Overview
This guide contains information about the market overlay, its filters, features, and best practices, specifically in the context of comparing the appraised vehicle to its competitive set on the market.
Market Overlay
The Market Overlay is a recurring component found throughout the AutoGrab product suite. It provides a visual overview of the competitive set, including both listed and delisted vehicles. With our amazing filters and search options, users can refine their competitive set to a custom criteria with ease.
Filters Section
The market overlay filter menu includes filters for vehicle specifications, active and delisted vehicles, tag-based filtering, marketplace filters, year of make filter, and an odometer filter. These filters enable users to fine-tune their competitive set for detailed insights.
Quick Info
The Avg. Sale, Days Supply, Avg. Odo, and Avg. Price provide a quick and comprehensive summary of the market performance and specifications of the competitive set. These statistics are displayed on the website to show users an overview of the average performance of the vehicles in the competitive set.
Active vs Delisted
Use the Active / Delisted filter options to distinguish between active and inactive vehicles. The "Active" filter shows cars currently on the market, while the "Delisted" filter displays cars that have been delisted or sold. This distinction is useful for analysing current market trends and historical data for additional context.
More Filters
Users can refine the competitive set even further using the "More Filters" option, which provides additional filter categories such as Vehicle Specs (model, body, badge, etc.), Year and Odometer (year, odometer), Tags (damaged, write off, etc.), and Marketplaces (Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace, Carsales, Autotrader, etc.). This allows for a more detailed and customised comparison based on a specific criteria.
Graph View
The Market Overlay in table form provides a detailed view each vehicle in the competitive set including Release month/year, Price EGC, Drive Away price, Odo, Color, Age, If its been delisted, Seller type, State, and source. Where the table version enhances the users ability to compare individual fields against the competitive set, the graph view gives a quick visual indication of how the vehicle sits amongst its competitors.
If there are outliers in the competitive set, a Show Outliers toggle will appear in the legend. Outliers occur when vehicles in the competitive set have extreme attributes that could significantly skew the data unfavourably compared to the rest of the set.
To view the market overlay as a graph:
1. In the Pricing History panel, appraise a vehicle or select a previously appraised vehicle.
2. Navigate to the top-right of the market overlay, and select Graph. The graph view will now be active.
3. Refine filters as needed.
